Third Annual Historic Home Tour

Please join the Essex County Museum and Historical Society for its third annual historic home tour on Saturday, May 22. The 2010 tour will visit Little Egypt and will include tours of the house and library. Little Egypt, so named because of the unusually fertile soil found around the property, was probably begun by 1750 in a Queen Anne style that was common to this portion of Eastern Virginia. Tours begin at 11:00 and a boxed lunch will be available starting at 11:30 in the garden area. Lunch choices include a vegetarian, chicken salad or club wrap. Please designate your lunch choice at time of ticket purchase. Tours will begin at 11:00 and will be held through 2:30. Tickets may be purchased with lunch ($20) or without lunch ($10).
